Original Joe’s Edmonton - Downtown is a place that welcomes all adults. We have craveable classics for lunch or dinner, down-to-earth vibes and a friendly team looking to brighten your day! Our OJ’s is close to Roger’s Place, home of NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings and plenty of live concerts and other events. You can walk down Jasper Ave. or the River Valley Zoo before joining us for one of our twice-daily happy hours! We’re also close to Government House Park, where the entire family can enjoy tobogganing or walking trails. Best of all, we have a dog-friendly patio that pairs perfectly with good company and good food.

I don't like how dark it is there either. They need more lighting. There's lounge lighting, and then there's candle lit bath lighting. People don't wanna eat in restaurants with the same level of light as a candle lit bath lol. That's why the 2 stars for atmosphere. I've never been in a restaurant or even a night club or lounge that is this dark. Also not impressed by the change in quality of the food since covid. They used to use a nice brioche bun for the sandwich and now they just use a dollar store hamburger bun and it's too soggy made that way.

Who's ever working in the kitchen couldn't seem to get our order correctly for a long time until tonight and then the fish was burnt and old on the fish tacos. Also, the plating was terrible. My chicken sandwich bottom bun was placed in a pool of gravy. Really difficult to eat. I hope the management addresses the Monday night kitchen staff issue. Wait staff is awesome and always courteous .

Been a regular for 10 years now, and they have a phenomenal outdoor patio, as well as a convenient location downtown (right off 124st and near Jasper Ave). The staff is always incredibly kind.
