Dear Montana’s Management Team,
I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding an incident that occurred today at your Montana’s Windermere location involving the manager on duty, Kaweesha.
My party consisted of three adults, and over the course of our visit we ordered and shared two beer jugs. When we attempted to place an order for a third jug, the manager abruptly refused, stating that it was not allowed under AGLC regulations. We were told that “if you Google it, you will find the regulation.”
I questioned this decision, as I am very familiar with Alberta liquor regulations and also operate multiple restaurants myself. At no point were we intoxicated, disruptive, or showing any symptoms that would justify a service refusal under Responsible Liquor Service guidelines.
I searched AGLC regulations myself and found no rule that limits a table of three people from ordering a third beer jug, provided guests are not intoxicated. When I asked the manager if he could show me the specific AGLC regulation supporting his claim, he left briefly and then returned with no explanation. Shortly afterward, the server—not the manager—returned and served us the beer anyway, without any clarification or apology.
What was most disappointing was:
The incorrect use of “AGLC regulation” to justify refusal
The lack of professionalism and accountability
No apology or explanation from the manager, despite the confusion and inconvenience caused
We came to Montana’s to enjoy a pleasant evening with my godfather, whom I had not seen in a long time. Instead, the experience was unnecessarily uncomfortable and frustrating.
I fully support responsible liquor service and understand the right to refuse service when appropriate. However, misrepresenting regulations and handling the situation in this manner is unacceptable, particularly from a manager.
I hope this matter will be reviewed seriously, and that additional training or clarification is provided to ensure AGLC rules are applied correctly and communicated professionally.
P.S. Our server, Emily, did a great job to make us a day. Service was great but I gave one star due to the manager, Kaweesha.

Amazing experience at Montana’s, thanks to yesaC! (Casey) she writes her name upside down so fast!!!
She was incredibly attentive, fast, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. Drinks were never empty, food came out exactly right, and her positive energy made the whole meal even better. One of the best servers I have had in a long time. Montana’s is lucky to have her. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We recently reserved seating for our family of 4 at Montana's for New Year's, and we had the awesome Siobhan as our server/waitress for the evening!
She was very knowledgeable about any questions we had - specifically about any deals and ingredients in the dishes as some of us had allergies.
Siobhan seems very conscientious and was always checking on us and everyone repeatly while doing her duties, great sense of humor too!
Her recommendations were on point and we ordered some starts and rinks based on what she told us - although we decided against ordering anything seasonal as the upcharge was a bit much for what you get.
All of the staff were super friendly!
The food was fantastic although the initial serving time was almost an hour after we ordered and it didn't seem like there were many people - it honestly wasn't busy even during the holidays.
3 of us had ordered the all-you-can-eat ribs for Wednesday and they were very good and the sauces were tasty, very well portioned ribs and for the most part not too fatty, which I am very picky about so I highly recommend!
Drinks were alo great! We ordered the antijitos and spinach dip for starters and were very pleased with them.
Parking was also very open, not too busy.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing and very chill, great for family outings.
Only complaint was someone bombed the men's room toilet so please make sure people check on them every hour or so.
Back in Toronto a few of the locations were shut down so I'm very happy that there are still some here in Edmonton!
TLDR: Food was awesome, our server Siobhan was literally an angel, restaurant was clean and tidy, and parking was readily available even during peak hours.
I very highly recommend people visit here as this location is very accessible and has great service and food. Keep an eye out for promotions and weekly deals to save some money!

I've been to Montana's a few times over the last couple... oh damn. Last couple decades and this last visit was maybe the best. Food was great (exactly what I was hoping for). The only reason I dropped a couple stars (one in service and another in atmosphere) was because I hate having an empty glass and it was cold in the building). Neither of those things would stop me from recommending a restaurant, so got up this place and enjoy some ribs!

I would not recommend this location, they have a promotion for the Lobster Bisque our table order 2, please see the difference in between the 2, we asked why it has such a different between the amount, they said the smaller one is the size that it should be, the full one was by accident. For the money that they charge, the small size is the standard size, they also forgot the crackers for the soup, that's how they run a business, I would not recommend this restaurant.
