I really like the ambiance. It's warm and cozy. Tastefully decorated and good music. The food was quite good, had the chips and salsa taster which I would recommend and the beef tacos were really tasty. The pork tacos were not as flavorful. Drinks were expensive. I also asked for some time between the chips and salsa and the tacos but the chips and salsa were served immediately and the tacos about 4 minutes later. We were in and out in well under an hour which was a bit short for a Saturday date night.

Went there for date night and Firstly the Queso Fundido was burnt and had to be remade for us as the server preparing it noticed it was burnt. That meant the tacos came before the appy. We ordered 4 beef NO cabbage, 4 fish and 1 chorizo. We got 6 beef WITH cabbage, 2 chicken and 2 fish. EVERY single taco was cold. We notified our server and she asked the kitchen to make the fish we ordered. Even those we cold. 👎 The second Queso was amazing and the only hot thing. The chips are incredibly thin. They kept breaking just trying to scoop Queso or guac. We were expecting to talk to a manager as we had several error throughout our meal. So disappointing :(

Yipes to your reply. Don't blame and guilt us for not liking what came out of your kitchen. Just make and serve food that tastes better. The coconut shrimp with salsa Verde was tasted great. It took forever to come out, but worth it.. The rest of the meal was not. We waited 45 min for a basic order. My order of mushroom tacos and my son's of some shrimp dish.. like I felt sick after. My son said his was like eating rubber bullets in oil. We were asked if we knew how the food was supposed to taste.. so, if the food tastes bad, it tastes bad. Why would you question it? We are offered a discount and free tequilas.. neither of which makes the food or customer service experience better. We live in the neighborhood, but will be sure not to go back here again.

A lively, beautifully designed Mexican restaurant that brings the spirit of Jalisco to Edmonton. Great food, crafted drinks, friendly service, and one of the city’s best all-season rooftop patios. A top spot for a fun, memorable night out. For a closer look — Añejo Mexican Restaurant is one of Edmonton’s most vibrant places to spend an evening — a lively blend of great food, crafted drinks, and the warm spirit of Jalisco, Mexico. As a tequila bar, it offers an impressive selection, expertly mixed cocktails, and a social, upbeat atmosphere perfect for date nights, group outings, or casual evenings that unfold into something special. The interior design is exceptional: warm lighting, bold colours, and thoughtful décor that give the space an energetic yet refined feel. The rooftop patio is a standout — heated and cozy in the colder months, open and sunlit in the summer — making it one of Edmonton’s most enjoyable year-round patios. The food is consistently flavourful, the drinks are well-crafted, and the service is friendly and polished. Clean, elegant, and full of character, Añejo is easily one of Edmonton’s standout places to eat, sip, and enjoy a great night out.

Food was great and came out really fast! The absolute downside of our experience was the condescending hostess. Rude for no reason, we didn’t catch her name but she made the entire experience off. It was party for 2 plus a baby and she sat us at a tiny table that couldn’t even fit all the food, we had chips next to us in the booth lol. When the table next to us freed up we immediately went to move as our waitress said we could, (as we were sat at a table for two with 3 people) The hostess got upset and what looked to be her manager said it was fine if we moved. To our surprise they were going to sit 2 people in a 4 person seat when we were drowning in our own plates making it an awful experience and game of “who’s going to knock the plate over first.” There was no apology for inconvenience or the wait we experienced for a table even with a reservation. In conclusion, ORDER IN. Especially if you have kids. We felt very dismissed.
