The chicken and garlic shrimp was perfectly cooked and the garlic cheese loaf was warm and delicious. The staff was very friendly and made the evening feel special and comfortable.

The asian lady with short hair and long eyelashes started being aggressive and rude after we asked her to split our bill evenly in 3. She came back and split it incorrectly, after we mentioned that to her she started being rude and aggressive for no reason. She said “well now I have to go back to the kitchen and fix it” when it took less than like 2 minutes. She carelessly throwing the receipts and her phone on the table to show us her annoyance. She was being condescending to my friend asking her if she “needs help” with the machine even though she was just using it normally. She was very nice before that instance. She ruined her own tip with her attitude. I don’t know why she felt entitled to treat us poorly over her own mistake that was not a big deal. The food wasn’t great but she ruined any chance of us coming back.

If I could put a zero I would. Myself and my husband just attended in person with my in-laws to eat and ended up leaving after 20 minutes. The service is absolutely horrendous. We sat for 10 minutes no one came to see us (despite the fact that we saw servers passing us quite a bit). My husband spoke with the hostess and told her no one had been to see us and it seemed like she forgot to tell the server we had been seated. We waited another 5 minutes and still no one. Husband spoke either the hostess again and said he wanted to speak with the manager, who didn’t bother to come see us. A server finally came to see us 5 minutes later at the 20 minute mark and we said we had already asked the hostess to see the manager and she said she’d go get him for us. He never did. So we got up and left.
This is the worst experience we’ve ever had at Swiss Chalet. If you don’t have enough staff to cover the whole restaurant, you either have a section that’s blocked off that you don’t seat people in or your servers need to quickly stop by the tables to say a quick hi and let tables know that it’s going to be a few minutes as the are short staffed. I also find it ridiculous that the manager wouldn’t even see us. As a manager it’s your job to deal with people when there are issues and it seemed like he couldn’t even be bothered to deal with us.
I will not be back to this location ever again.

This has become our mid week go-to. Kids eat free on Wednesdays, and the adult entrees are so comforting. I really appreciate the staff who are always welcoming, attentive and kind. I indulged in the surprisingly large portions of fish and chips (for seafood fest) and the kids burger is also quite large. It’s easy to visit here regularly on nights when we don’t want to cook as rotisserie chicken is guilt free! Kids love the independence of picking off a fun menu, enjoying a colourful drink while still squeezing in veggies and dessert, and parents don’t break the bank or their back. Pro parent tip: order the chicken spring rolls to go ($10) and throw them into your kiddos lunch for the next day. Thanks for the save Swiss Chalet! :p
