We enjoyed our dinner but were subjected to a cleaner slopping bleach water all over the floor in the front area where we were sitting at 8:20. We were the last table there and they were wanting to get rid of us. We had to ask the cleaner to wring out her mop and dry a path for us to walk to the exit. It was soaking wet. Water laying all over the floor. I wish I would have taken a picture. If we would have slipped and fell we could have sued the place. We were treated rudely so the staff could leave early!

When we recieved the meals the half chicken was incredibly dry….I love Costco chicken and this tasted like dry and was like sawdust(best way to describe it in my mouth). Told the waitress and she said “that’s the way our white meat always is”. Not a good answer as I had the meat apart to show her. The bill came and no discount or apology. Asked for the manager and explained. She said could give me another meal. I said that I would like a refund on the meal. She agreed. Seemed very difficult to get to this point and satisfy me. Clearly the chicken is dry. See picture. Won’t be returning for another 20 years as I believe that was the last time I was at Swiss Chalet. Too bad.

After we paid, the waiter kept asking for a bigger tip and said “so I didn’t serve you well?” You don’t know what people are going through financially. We’re newcomers, literally just came from thrifting winter clothes and still decided to treat ourselves to dinner with what we had. For him to guilt-trip us and question why we didn’t tip more was very upsetting and unnecessary.
- GPGary ParkerJan 3, 20265.0My Wife, inlaws and myself came to the Shawville location on 3/1/26. We ordered 2 half chicken dinners and 2 rib, chicken combos. The food was excellent. But what really stood out, was the service and staff attitude overall. Exceptional is what I'd call it. Our Server Luke was 1st class, fun and efficient. Always smiling and pleasant to talk to. All the staff were friendly and laughing behind in the kitchen, which is a rare thing to hear these days. Kudos to Mo the owner who has created a great working relationship among the team. Awesome job guys and gals. Thank you. Gary Parker

Chicken was dried out and cold (mashed cold) Had to nuke everything to bring to a reasonable temp. Pop and cranberries were a good temp. go figure. Spent $35 w/ tip for single person
