I've waited long enough before I posted this review as I was giving both the restaurant and the chain a chance to at least contact me. On Sat, Dec 6th, at 6:00 p.m., my group of eight people had a reservation. We were seated and things were a little bit slow but nothing too unusual at the start. We made our order and then we ended up waiting for 2 and 1/2 hours. Around the 1-hour mark, I had asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and I was ignored outright. At an hour and a half, I repeated the request and again I was ignored. It was around 2 hours and 15 minutes, that I had told the staff that all eight of us were about to leave and someone had better talk to us now or we're gone. Why were we waiting for our meals all this time and only getting excuses from the unfortunate waitress, an Eastern European woman who did do her best, when we were finally told honestly that that the managers were hiding from the customers. Apparently a large group had been booked and the restaurant was not in any way prepared for it. So everyone else who had come in for the meal were forced to suffer for hours. A manager only finally came to talk to me, well, only after we had received our food finally at the 2 and 1/2 hour mark just when we were about to leave. The manager gave absolutely no excuses or even mentioned really anything except for that large group supposedly and then just asked me for my number and told me that the owner or someone else would contact me later in the week. It has been almost 3 months now and still no one has called me. Right now, it was already bad enough about the issue of that evening but the total lack and deliberate avoidance of communication on two levels, being the management and Toronto head office , is by far an example of absolute incompetence or lack of customer care that I've ever seen in a restaurant chain. And why did I say two levels? I had spoken to head office and also asked about what the hell is going on well over a month ago and I still have not even heard anything from head office in Toronto. So apparently Swiss Chalet really doesn't give a damn about anything about the satisfaction of their customers, and I'm certain that quite a few other customers that night that probably made similar complaints. This restaurant has definitely lost my future business, but more importantly Swiss Chalet as a whole has dropped so far beneath the quality of the original restaurant that inspired them, the Chalet BBQ in Montreal, or even the original Swiss Chalet in Toronto, that it is no wonder that Swiss Chalet has left entire cities such as Vancouver. I have experience in the industry, and I really did give this restaurant a chance to redeem itself on some level. But apparently that doesn't matter. So why should I care any further. I would just highly recommend to anyone even thinking of going here for chicken is to find a real rotisserie place. And if you really want to see what the original inspiration was and what a real true classic rotisserie that knows their service well? Go to the original Chalet BBQ in Montreal.

Naz is the best server of any restaurant we visit in Calgary. She is the reason we go the Swiss Chalet as often as we do. I highly recommend this restaurant for the great food and the best service!

We recently dined at Swiss Chalet and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The rotisserie chicken was tender, flavorful, and exactly what you’d expect from a place known for it. The signature Chalet sauce is always a highlight and pairs perfectly with the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and our food arrived hot and fresh. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable, making it a great spot for a casual dinner with family or friends. We will definitely come back!

Our server, Naz, is the reason my family specifically goes to the Shawnessey location. She makes us feel like we're in her home and she's cooking for us. She remembers faces and goes out of her way to make you happy. My kids adore her and she treats us all like we're her family. Strongly recommend visiting Naz and experience a home away from home.
