  This is a great local restaurant I come by often at least a 2-3 times per month It’s well priced and the staff is always well dressed and accommodating regardless of the time of day. Menu items to try: my go too are the Empire State or the steak and sushi but my recommendation is are for any steaks to be done rare. Unfortunately depending on who is cooking busy or slow the steaks often will come out medium rare or medium For me it’s a very small gripe Is steaks are not your thing then try then grilled Caesar salad or the spicy tuna bowl ( and it’s not very spicy which is nice gives it a bit of a zip and not overwhelming) And the local house red and blonde 21oz are great and very well Priced comparatively to other local prices. Also it’s nice that it’s kid friendly till 17:00 bringing my nieces has never been a problem Ultimately good food, good service at a good price.

  We visited this establishment today and had an unpleasant experience. We sat down at a table at 1:05 p.m., were brought the menu at 1:40 p.m., and our food at 1:55 p.m. We waited for almost an hour. Of course, we were given a 10% discount, but that did nothing to improve our mood. Better no discount, but good service. We understand that it may have been a busy time, but we were not warned about this, so negative comment.

  River was very kind and provided great service considering how busy the lounge side was! He was honest in saying he himself had allergies but gave the best suggestions based off of guest faves and I was not disappointed! Environment is warm and comfortable. Will be back!!

  This happens to be the second visit within 30 days to State & Main Mahogany Calgary. First visit was an ok service, food was acceptable. While at the lounge area several couples and I watched the bartender over serve a drunken customer. Should have been more diligent. The individual was eventually cut off. But too late. On this last visit, Sunday Nov 9th not only was the food terrible, the wings over fried, and cold. The service was terrible. My appertizers (Salad) came out after the table across from me which came in after me, by 10 minutes, received there main meals, note there order was taken after mine my order was taken. Again while in the lounge area we watched along with other tables two men at the bar over severed, drunk, chair falling over, with being very loud along with making comments to others. A few things as a recommendation, line cooks should be aware of food being served, staff should be more responsible about other individuals in reference to amount of alcohol consumed. Will not return and will advise others of quality, and service. Ken

  The BEST Experience for our 11th Anniversary! We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary at State and Main tonight, and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. This was our first time visiting, and we were completely blown away. We were seated immediately, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. We didn't have to wait long for our food at all; it came out surprisingly quickly and was absolutely delicious. We ordered the steak with potatoes and asparagus, and our son got the chicken quesadilla and fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The dessert was wonderful too! A special shout-out has to go to our server, Alyssa. She was the best! She was so attentive, friendly, and really made our celebration feel special. If you go, I highly recommend asking to be seated in her section. We had such a great experience and will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!
