I ordered a little cheeseburger with mayonnaise and relish, along with a small order of unsalted fries. I ate the full burger but only a small portion of the fries. About an hour later, while still at work, I began experiencing severe stomach pain and cramping. The discomfort was intense enough that I briefly considered going to the emergency room. When I arrived home around midnight, I tried to sleep it off, but I woke up at 4:00 AM with the same abdominal pain. A sip of water made the cramps worse, so I prepared some warm soup, which helped ease the pain slightly. I plan to see a doctor to rule out any serious concerns, but based on my symptoms, it seems consistent with food related stomach irritation or possible mild food poisoning. I have been a Five Guys customer for over nine years, and I’ve generally enjoyed their burgers. However, this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced discomfort after eating here, although never this severe. I’ve also noticed recently that the patties don’t taste quite the same as they used to. They taste less flavourful and not as fresh which makes me wonder whether their supplier or preparation methods have changed. This is only my personal observation. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning. The pain was unlike anything I’ve felt before, and it left me concerned about food handling and consistency at this location. I hope management will review their food safety practices and quality control to ensure better experiences for future customers.
