  Food was great. Good portion sizes. Service was good. There were a lot of people here and our server was kind and speedy. Very busy place. Music was waaaay too loud indoors and not really conducive to conversation so we went outside and sat at a table under one of their heaters. I'll go back when it's a bit warmer to get a better take on the place. All in all it was a great find late on a Saturday evening. If you're just going to drink with the crew and watch the game and eat some great food and don't mind not being able to hear your buddies, it's a great place to hang.

  Had a great time taking my parents out here to eat! The food options were great and made the experience really enjoyable as we were able to order something we liked. What really made the experience was our server, Bella! She kept our drinks topped up, worked her magic to get the TVs playing the game we were looking for and had a great attitude everytime she was at the table! Will definitely be back because of her!

  Elephant & Castle is a proper British-style pub right in downtown Calgary. Great prices, solid pub food, and soccer culture on every wall. It’s the kind of spot that feels alive on match days. If you’re looking for a place to catch weekend footy with a good vibe, this is an easy recommendation.

  Really bad experience the bar tender was not at all friendly neither smiling nor interested in taking the order. Fries were sogie and the beer wasn’t cold enough. Don’t waste your time going there.

  I had dinner here around 9:30 PM on March 23rd, 2026. I walked in, and no one greeted me. I waited awkwardly for a staff member to notice me or say something, but the man behind the bar looked at me and went back to what he was doing. He didn't have the common courtesy or the common sense to say something like "One sec! Will be with you in a moment." While awkwardly waiting, I noticed a sign to seat myself, so I sat myself. Again, I was awkwardly waiting to be recognized as a customer. I noticed how the bartender who had no tasks to attend to was just scrolling on his phone, and he still hadn't said anything to me yet. Because I didn't see any other staff members, I took the initiative to walk up to the bar. The bartender, instead of getting his act together, just dismissed me with "Your server will come to you." Keep in mind neither he nor anyone else has said 'Hi' to me or asked me how many people there were in my party. I found his scrolling on his phone, lack of eye contact, lack of courtesy, very dismissive and I said "Okay" to him in the same dismissive tone that he used with me. My dropping my friendliness finally roused him as he put his phone down and went to check in the back for any servers. Meanwhile, I went back to my booth and contemplated walking to another restaurant. Then he walked over, gave me a water and a menu, and finally asked me if I expected others to join my party. The rest of the evening was uneventful. I really enjoyed my food, and my server (who was someone else) took the time to treat me kindly, just like any other customer instead of a nonentity. I noticed during dinner that when a white couple walked in, that same bartender had no problem greeting them even though he couldn't be bothered when I walked in. Anyways, food was great, the server with the two cute pigtails was very kind. But bartender, please treat everyone with respect. I shouldn't have to become cold in order for you to treat me with respect. Please treat everyone alike! Everyone is a person.
