The evening started with a warm welcome and a smile that immediately brightened my spirits after a challenging workday. The drink selection was quite impressive. As a bourbon fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the options available compared to most widely known chains, and Berlin's recommendation of the Makers brand was spot on. For my meal, I ordered what I believe was called the pitmaster platter or sampler. It included a half rack of ribs, hot wings, and brisket, accompanied by a side of fries. I opted for the supreme baked mashed potatoes instead of fries. Berlin suggested the apple BBQ sauce with the ribs, which I found to be the highlight of the meal. While the hot wings were what is describe to be mild for a toddler, their flavor and crispiness were excellent. The brisket, however, was disappointing. As someone who appreciates a good brisket, I was surprised by the absence of a smoke ring, and it was rather dry and chewy. Had I known, I would have requested to substitute it for either a full rack of ribs or additional wings. Furthermore there was no horseradish or spicy mustard to even attempt a revival Despite this, the service truly made up for the brisket. Given that the evening was a bit slower, Berlin took the time to engage with my colleague and I, which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely return..
