- CBChris BettingerMar 28, 20251.0INCOMPETENCE? OR SOMETHING ELSE? When my mom passed away i didn't know where to turn. She had thousands of dollars in bills and expenses, but I knew, as her representative, she would've left me a way to pay them. I went to holladay Bank where she had multiple accounts and spoke with the manager Pam, who informed me that all my moms accounts were under the name of her trust and only the trustee could access them. so i paid her bills out of my pocket. 2 months later I'm again at Holladay Bank, and again Pam tells me that all my moms accounts are in the name of the trust and only the trustee could access them. so i continued to pay my moms bills out of pocket. 1 year later, the trustee goes to Holladay bank to liquidate my moms accounts and guess what? her checking account, that she would've left me access to, was not in the name of the trust. When confronted, Pam was smug, no apology. How can a bank manager make that kind of mistake? why wouldn't a bank manager apologize? perhaps it was not a mistake. If i was an owner or shareholder at this bank i would be very concerned about who is running it, And I would think twice about trusting these people with your money. Pam should be investigated and deceased customers accounts should be audited.
