- SSShaneJun 11, 20264.0I normally have great things to say about the bank tellers at Wheatland Bank in Chelan. Today's experience was friendly and they tried to help, but kept wanting to prepare a bank letter to establish a direct deposit account. I simply requested a statement affirming the account number and routing number that I had prepared on a form for my employer - nothing more. After a second attempt, the teller got the branch manager who said she can prepare the item requested but was on her lunch at 2:30 pm, and it would take at least one hour to prepare. When I pressed on its timing, why would it take so long, she said, "Fine, I'll cancel my lunch so you can get this letter," and stormed away angry. I have never been treated this way by a supervisor, normally they are the ones to cool tension and promote healthy customer relations. Not this person! I am so angry and asked about closing my account with Wheatland and was told I'll have to set a time to meet with personal banking staff. I walked out. What is going on with the lack of customer service now days? Do they no longer care, nor feel they are working to service customers? UPDATE: The bank branch manager called me back to apologize and explain reasons behind her actions. I accepted the apology and understood people make mistakes. Her apology went a long ways to our overall experience. I changed the rating to 4 for today's events.
