  If you are looking for EXCELLENT financial planners, may I recommend True North Advisors located in Innsbrook in Richmond, VA. Russ and Rawlings Cumbea have been amazing to work with over the years! They have helped with our college and retirement planning. They aren’t just a name on your account statements, but genuine, Christian men who get to know your family members by name and meet with you in person to discuss your individual financial situation and goals.

  Jen Rose at True North has handled my financial planning, investment advice, college funding strategy, and wealth management since 2018. I first met her at a college funding workshop she hosted at Glen Allen High School, and it was easily the most useful hour I’d spent on the topic. We started working together shortly after to build a plan that covers paying for college for my kids and my own retirement. What sets True North apart is that they actually listen. Jen asked about my goals before recommending anything. She was realistic and transparent about what my plan could and couldn’t do, and she laid out several ways to diversify based on my risk tolerance instead of pushing one product. When the market gets noisy, I can call or email and get a straight explanation of what’s happening and whether it changes anything for me. If you’re in the Richmond, VA area (Glen Allen, Short Pump, Henrico) and looking for a financial advisor who can help with college savings, 529 planning, retirement, or long-term wealth management, I’d recommend Jen Rose and the True North team without hesitation. Eight years in, the trust we’ve built has been worth more than any single piece of advice.
