- DMDan MadoniJun 17, 20251.0Nothing says failure with respect to a financial institution than when they're careless with your funds, fail to provide simple services that are commonplace, and impossible to reach for assistance after they have completely left you and your customers high and dry. Independent Financial was already in terrible shape, but the SouthState transition is nothing less than an abject debacle. I am forced to bank with this miserably bad institution because the relationship was already in place when I took over the accountant role in my organization. But if you're thinking of opening an account here, stay far away. If you have the option to move to another bank, you would be irresponsible for not doing so. We are waiting for the dust to settle on some outstanding expenditures and then will look forward to moving our accounts to a bank that at least meets the minimum requirements for providing banking services.
