- DGDalton GilbertSep 10, 20261.0This used to be a pretty decent bank back when it was Independent Financial. Rarely had any problems, and when I did I could get them solved pretty quickly. When Southstate took over they made a great first impression by being weeks late on delivering my new debit card. Months later, their app still frequently doesn't work right, their overdraft fees are the worst I've ever seen, and I haven't been able to withdraw my own money from their ATM in weeks, it always gives me an error. Another shining example of everything getting worse; Another business that exists to squeeze every ounce of money they can get out of you, and screw you if you think you should get anything from them in return. I'll be swapping banks ASAP. EDIT: Decided to do my research and learned that Southstate is also experimenting with Crypto garbage, laid off a bunch of people as soon as they took over, and the CEO made like $660k a few months ago. What a joke.
