  I am a business owner, and I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe it is critical for other business owners and clients to know who they are trusting with their finances. We are currently in a lawsuit against Smith and Smith and Ruiz, specifically due to the actions of Jorge. His negligent handling of our account and the provision of misguided information has caused significant harm to our business. Because of his incompetence, we have been put under severe financial burden. Furthermore, the stress caused by cleaning up his negligence has directly led me and my wife to stress-related health issues. This has escalated beyond a simple mistake or a personality conflict—we are now pursuing legal action to recover our losses. I strongly urge anyone to avoid doing any business with Smith and Smith and Ruiz. Save yourself the financial cost, the time, and the horrible personal experience. There are plenty of competent professionals out there; these are not them. Terrible Service.

  Glenn was incredible to work with! This was the easiest and most enjoyable tax filing experience I’ve ever had! Glenn was heat at commuting and explaining everything to me. I would highly recommend using him!

  Jorge Ruiz was my CPA since 2018 until we parted ways in 2024. Jorge incorrectly advised me for years that my business (that Jorge registered) did not have to pay state taxes and now I owe over 50k to the comptroller which led to the state seizing my bank accounts. I filed a complaint with Texas State Board of Accountancy and petition with the justice of the peace court demanding remedy. Jorge is aware of the issue but refuses to take responsibility, at the very least the penalties and interest. Very unprofessional from a partner of an accounting firm. Update - On 9/17/25, I attended a court ordered mediation meeting with Jorge. He offered $2,000 if I remove my review or $1,000 to remediate the situation. I declined and decided to move forward with my claim. If you’re a victim of Jorge, you can file a Texas Small Claims Petition. The county is Tarrant, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 7. Please don’t be afraid to represent yourself against professional negligence. I am at risk of losing my home because of Jorge and his negligence. His attorney is trying to sneak verbiage to remove my review while only offering me 5k to settle. Be warned you’re putting your business at risk by hiring this firm.
