  How much money does corporate America wants to save? How about completely not having to speak to any clients. Automated system is the worst in USA. Idiotic process where I have to sit on the phone for 30 min to get information that would have taken me 5 min in the past. If you care about communication, and being valued then run for the hills because this company won't do that for you.

  I would never recommend banking with them. They charge me fees even when those fees arent supposed to be charged to me due to who I am employed with and I was assured on 2 separate occasions that those fees wouldn't be charged and of course they end up charging me anyway. Like fix your stupid system and stop charging me. Quit making me come into the branch every few months to get those fees refunded and taken off just to add them back in again a few months later. Terrible business practice and they only care about taking your money away.

  We've been with CU of Texas for 30 years. They get worse every year. Impossible to get someone on the phone, no one to answer simple questions, just difficult to work with all around. Too many large bank options with better service at less expensive.

  I would not recommend CUTX at all, to anyone based on my experience. From the beginning, I was fully transparent about my financial situation, including multiple rental properties and shared ownership. I also asked several times whether there were any concerns with my file and was consistently told everything looked good. Based on that guidance, I moved forward with selling my home that I had lived in 10 years and entering into a purchase contract. Then, very late in the process, (less than 2 weeks to closing!) my loan was denied due to debt-to-income concerns tied to the same rental properties that had been disclosed from day one. This was not new information. It should have been identified and addressed early in the process, not after major financial decisions had already been made. The entire situation raises serious concerns about the quality of their review process and whether files are being properly evaluated upfront. The lack of early diligence and communication created unnecessary risk and stress during an already time-sensitive transaction. I would strongly advise working with a different lender that performs a thorough and accurate underwriting review from the start.
