I have never enjoyed a better relationship with a bank than I have with SouthState. They have tremendous people working here, especially Randall who has worked with our family for some time and has always been a consummate professional and always takes care of our banking needs. This bank is absolutely atrocious. The 5 star reviews are clearly employees padding their reputation. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM; $80 for checks, $7.50 per statement if you need historical data (regardless if it's emailed or printed), new fees added without the consent of the account owner. The customer service is awful, and the staff is indifferent to the needs of the client. They clearly built their business model around gouging those who bank with them. Pinnacle Bank is far superior, we moved all our accounts to them, no charge for any of the above services and always willing to work with you on your personal and business needs. Unbelievable. I don't usually write reviews, but I write this to help others avoid this pain.
