I put a deposit in the ATM. I have several accounts with the bank. I put the check in the wrong account. Took me four days to get the check back in two days to get the check to clear. Why is the ATM a final deposit where you can’t get the check back or the bank can’t put it in another account that the person has or give them a call and tell them to come deposit it. They have to mail it back to you and waste all the time obviously when you’re putting money in the bank at night, you need it to be there in the morning not six days later why the ATM in 2026 can’t tell that it’s the wrong account and split the check back out so I couldn’t deposit it in the other account. I’ve been banking with this bank for 10 years or more and this is the service I get.Very disappointing!

Hands down the WORST Branch South State Bank has. Used to be good but seems that all the diversity hiring has ruined their customer service. Don't even know why they have a drive thru because out of nowhere they won't take cash deposits over $1K. Done with this place and will be closing all my accounts
