  I had been banking with South State Bank for several years and had a checking account there that was about to go dormant because I had not used it in several months. I received a notification from the bank that I would start receiving penalties on it if I did not make a transaction in the next two months. Knowing this, I visited the branch on Robert Grissom Parkway this morning and met a most delightful banker named Bernice. She greeted me as I entered the branch and offered assistance. I told her that I did not use the account and wished to close it. She smiled, made eye contact, and said that she would be glad to help me. Bernice executed the account closure with precision and efficiency. Once finished, she asked if she could assist me with anything else, to which I declined. Bernice then thanked me with a smile and wished me a great day. I left with a warm feeling in my heart and a calm mind because of Bernice's friendly disposition and treating me like family.   I have banked at this bank for many years. Everyone has always been very helpful. You have one employee that has the very worse customer service I have ever seen. When I have to go inside the bank to handle business I try not to get her. Yesterday I had no choice as it was just her and one more employee working at the windows. How I was treated put the icing on the cake! I will be changing banks now because of how she treated me. She is the one that is always to the far left when you are standing in line. South State I will miss you and y’all really need to train her on how to treat a customer. Thank you for the great years of banking!
