  I’ve had the pleasure of being with this bank for countless years even though they have changed their names dozens of times !! Since 97’, I’ve been a loyal customer as a primary account holder along with my husband as a joint account holder!!!! Recently we were victims of fraud and I didn’t realize that counterfeit checks were deposited into our account!! There was some funds left in our account which was my own.. So now the account was closed immediately cause of it!! The account was overdrawn and I have to pay for it!! I guess we’re not valuable anymore and they cut us off!! This is very first time since 1997 that this issue has happened!! That’s okay cause Wells Fargo acted MORE COMPASSIONATE than South State- I’m sure we’re not the only ones and dam sure won’t the last !! Signed sealed delivered, Stella Ann Glasgow

  This bank is the WORST bank that I’ve ever seen. If you make one mistake that’s it they will close out your checking and savings accounts even if you try to explain the issue of what happened they (South State Bank) won’t listen!! Then they’ll hold your money until you pay them off!!! I’ll NEVER do any business with this HORRIFIC bank ever again!!!! I’ve been on a joint account with my wife for over 30 years and it seems like a slap in the face for what they did to my wife!!!

  If you walk into any bank, you can almost expect EVERYONE working there to be super friendly. Not SouthState Bank in Laurens. The lady sitting in the office facing the teller never greeted me much less smile at me. The heavy set blonde girl working the front cut me off as soon as I walked up. I eventually figured out she was working on a drive thru transaction. I asked a simple question and yet again, she cut me off before I could finish what I was saying. If you've ever heard the term, "nice nasty," this was her attitude. She was just nice enough,, but with a nasty attitude. She didn't even bother thanking me, until I said, thank you have a nice day. She said thank you and I left. I usually frequent a different branch in another county and I hate I wasted my time going into this branch.

  The bank itself is just fine people are friendly and helpful... but to get them on the phone is ridiculous.. i ve had to call 3 times this past week and each time im on hold for over 30 mins..
