- AGAmoi GoldmanAug 29, 20232.0Very disappointed with my recent experience at the PNC Hershey branch. Normally I have a positive experience because I rarely go inside. It was necessary to go inside because their drive-up ATM distributed a ripped bill as part of my cash withdrawal. I was concerned about using the bill as legal tender. Inside there were two bank tellers handling the line and drive-thru, which doesn’t sound bad except both tellers were also dealing with time consuming customers. The line continued to grow. To save time I left the line to deposit the problematic bill in the ATM in the vestibule, and hopefully withdraw a non-ripped bill. Unfortunately, their ATM wouldn’t accept a bill in that condition, proving my point. After returning to the excruciatingly slow line I finally reached a teller who exchanged my bill. The teller said they had “no control” over the quality of bills distributed by their ATM because those services were provided by a vendor. It wasn’t a satisfactory response after what should have been an easy fix became an ordeal and a serious waste of time. If time is money, this branch just wasted my money. As a result, I will definitely choose electronic banking options and use other ATM machines. Remember to check the condition of cash from PNC ATM’s.
