- DGDon GossOct 1, 20261.0While the management and staff are pleasant, they are forced to work with a corporate structure in Hermitage, PA, 250 miles away. That’s not local banking. After banking there for 34 years, and having paid off a Home Equity Loan, their loan structure required that we reapply again, go through the entire process and then wait 3 weeks! After the third week, we were told that “Hermitage said it’d be another week to sign papers!” The next day, we went to Members 1st (a local institution that’s a few miles away, not 250!) and after 1/2 hour, we were pre-approved for our Home Equity Loan and after 1 week, we signed the closing papers! We now have all our accounts with Members 1st and the interest from our accounts in one month exceeded the amount we were getting all year from First National Bank! I need not make any more comments, but the service, the interest and the ability to quickly provide services was far exceeded by a true local financial institution at Members 1st!
