I honestly felt like banks are banks and to leave a review for one is crazy but here we are. I recently moved home in Westminster from Raleigh due to my mother’s health. Having to relocate, I found a great job in hospitality where I make cash tips. I needed a bank nearby to pay my bills. Luz is the woman that was helping me open my bank account. Let me preface this by saying my recently ill mother wanted to drive for some errands, on this rainy day off, I didn’t feel she’d be safe so I quickly throw on grey sweatpants and a white hoodie. I explained I didn’t have a MD license yet but I had proof of mail, my ID, bank statement and cards. She was hesitant right away saying I could fraud the bank for $59,000 if she opened this account BEFORE CHECKING MY CREDENTIALS THEN after seeing my credentials she says “well you know you need at least $25 to open a bank account. Why would I open account if I didn’t have $25 I came in with $800 in cash. Plus my other bank accounts?? There is a difference between fraud alert and discrimination and I truly felt discriminated against. I have lived in multiple states over the past 12 years, I usually use local bank accounts, so I’m used to setting up new accounts Never in my life have I felt profiled for wearing comfy clothes and no make up but LUZ did that. The cherry on top was afterwards (I held my breath and put on a smile to finish the transaction 40 min later) I went to make a purchase ..2 hours after I handed $800 in cash to pnc.. my card was declined and flagged as fraud. PNC, do better.

I tried to call the bank to report a fraud issue with PayPal. The phone rang and rang and rang, I finally gave up. I need to get in touch with a staff person now! I tried Eisenhower PNC and the same thing happened. If you're in a hurry don't call either one of these places, I guess you have to go in person.
