- MGMichelle GFeb 17, 20261.0Sat in the lobby for over 5 minutes before anyone even said anything to me. Finally someone walked up to me and just said 'what's your name?' and then said she'd help me. I had scheduled an appointment online to do a death notification for my father and had an original death certificate, an account statement listing myself as a beneficiary, a debit card, and the account number. She proceeded to tell me she was not going to process the death notification because there was a joint signer on the account. I informed her that was his POA. She said she had to check with someone else and then came back and said well then you need to go back to the branch that processed the POA paperwork. I asked why the supposed joint signer wasn't listed as a legal owner on the statement then? She said she's not required to answer questions about statements. I just picked up my stuff and left. I've never been treated so rudely, unprofessionally, uncaringly, and unsympathetically in my life. Even if there was a joint signer, she should have processed the death notification on everything under my father's social security number, including his debit card and online banking information so that fraud is not committed against him now that he has passed away. I have two of my own accounts with PNC, and after today's experience will probably just close those as well...
