- DDDaniel DavenportMay 23, 20262.0I have been a customer with PNC for 25 years. This week I was contacted by an agent from this office offering to negotiate a personal loan to satisfy other loans with higher interest. She reported that they might be able to negotiate a much reduced interest rate. Scheduled a meeting for two days later. That night I received a request for an online application for the loan. I assumed this was to prepare for the in person meeting. I completed the very basic application only to be denied for the loan. When I went to the branch today I was told that this online application had NO relationship with our meeting today, and she could not negotiate a personal loan since I had just been rejected by the system. She also indicated that a rejection for a personal loan would affect my credit rating in a negative way. Some warning about the implications of a rejected loan would have been appreciated.
