  I was just at the branch in Collingswood. A street fair was going on and PNC, celebrating that they are now open on Saturdays, had a lovely table set up outside. Since they were in fact the only area bank to be open, and they were right across the street from the church yard sale at which I was volunteering, I naturally assumed that they could break a hundred dollar bill for me. As I entered the lobby I was kindly greeted by two very well-dressed and charming people. My mind immediately harkened back to a comforting place. It seemed customer service was making a come-back. When Ryan asked how I could be helped, I told him I just needed change for a 100 dollar bill. I was very politely told that, unless I had an actual account with them they could only make change for $25.00 or less. An odd number, I thought, but I searched my wallet for a 20 in the hopes of getting at least some ones. Besides, how long could it take? There was only one person at the counter, and she had been there a second or two. During my 3 minute wait, TWO OTHER PEOPLE came in asking the same question I had asked. Both of them were met with the same answer I received...4 minutes ago. The first one, I only heard. The second one, I actually had to turn around and watch. My eyes met the curious gaze of the unlucky fellow, and from across the room we both began to laugh. He stuffed his cash back into his pocket and left. Giggling to myself, I turned back to face the teller who was now ogling the manicure of the same woman I had been behind 5 hilarious minutes ago. The absurdity finally hit me so I turned to leave. As I passed the bank's festival table, I said to the staff that was arranging all the freebies, "Give away all the crap you want, but if one must have an account just to break a 100 dollar bill, then your company is not at all customer centric." They said nothing. And I had to split. I still needed to break that Benny. If this is what people are okay with now I guess I need to learn Zelle, or Venmo, or whatever. I don't know anything about the banking biz so I'm purely guessing that this business strategy works? Lure folks in with a free beer can cozy then sign them up? It is what it is. But it is not customer service.

  Kendra was very welcoming, friendly , knowledgeable, and flat out helpful. Very professional and beautiful might I add ! I will be making an appointment to see her about a business account soon :) Facilities were clean and the teller behind the desk was wonderful as well!

  Awful branch. My fiance and I came here to deposit a check from our house we just sold, apparently they decided to financially cut corners and get rid of human tellers and we had to use the ATM to do deposits, ok whatever. This morning, my balance shows the balance of the check had been withdrawn from my account with a note "other expenses " I initially thought I had been a victim of fraud. Called pnc only to find out that apparently because the check was written. Out to both myself and my fiance, the check didn't clear. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A TELLER TO ACTUALLY LET US KNOW ABOUT THIS BEFORE DEPOSITING THE CHECK. Now I've wasted my entire morning on the phone with the branch only to have the branch manager snub me; apparently he's too busy with "other clients" to make a mistake his branch made right when it comes to the common man. Now i have to wait for them to mail us back the check. This is the last straw, I'm done with PNC, I'll take my business and money elsewhere. Few tips for success. A: Get a better branch manager that understands and values accountability B: Learn when automation is practical and impractical
