I recently visited State Employees’ Credit Union while dealing with a stressful auto loan process following an accident and insurance situation. I had already been pre-qualified through another branch the day before and was advised on the documentation needed to move forward.
When I met with Patrick Dang, I explained the situation and provided the paperwork and business card from the representative who had already been assisting me. Unfortunately, I was told he could not proceed without additional documentation. While I understand policies and procedures may vary between branches, I was uncomfortable with the implication that the previous branch may not have “gone by the book.”
What truly bothered me, however, was being told that he had reached out to the previous representative and that she responded saying she did not know what I was referring to. Later that day, when I drove to the other branch myself, the representative was extremely confused and informed me she never received or responded to any message regarding my situation. She was very apologetic and reassured me that this had never happened before.
Ironically, during our interaction, he jokingly mentioned that it was okay if I left a bad review. At the time, I actually had no intention of doing so. However, after later learning the information I was given was not accurate, I genuinely felt misled. Honesty and transparency are extremely important to me, especially when handling important financial matters during an already stressful situation.
I understand not every situation can be approved immediately, but communication and integrity matter just as much as policies do. Hopefully this feedback helps improve consistency and customer experience moving forward.

Out of all the SECU locations this one provided the worst customer service experience. The teller was rude and would over talk me when I was concerned about why an account had closed. Then after speaking with someone who fixed the account she couldn't explain why the account was closed. She was confrontational before I could even ask her any questions and was not knowledgeable about her job. I will avoid this bank as much as possible. Sad that this one is the closes one to my home. I would rather drive an hour from my home than to ever deal with this branch again.

For it being a friday and pouring down rain, I thought that not only was the location adequately staff, but worked at a fast pace in a professional manner. Personally, I found Ms. Bush to be extremely memorable and I look forward to her service again.
