  I had an outstanding experience at the South State Bank, on Glenwood Ave. today thanks to Will & Kira. They both went above and beyond to help me with my situation, and their professionalism, patience, and kindness really stood out. I'm an independent contractor, not an employee so one of the companies I work for uses echecks because they can't put me on direct deposit, so I can print my checks off from anywhere, because I travel a lot for work, so it does look a little suspicious if you haven't seen it before. Instead of just doing the basics of their job, they took the time to carefully listen and make sure everything was handled correctly. They were incredibly helpful, positive, and genuinely seemed to care about resolving my issue. Customer service like this is rare, and it made a stressful situation much easier. I truly appreciate the effort they put in to help me today. The bank is lucky to have employees like them representing the branch. Thank you both again for your excellent service!

  The manager Cliff was very rude and didn’t seem to understand my needs to applying for a loan. He seemed like he didn’t know how to even start the process, very condescending, and arrogant. He kept texting on his phone while I was speaking to him and didn’t even hear me to the point I had to repeat myself several times. This is not how business works and I really think this guy didn’t want to be there or do his job. After about 30 minutes of getting nowhere, I left and took my business to a bank that listened and wanted me as a customer! To say the least, this bank isn’t a place anyone should go! I recommend any other bank than this one. Cliff should learn how to treat customers in order to gain trust for future customers. His ego was bigger than his body. Please get new management!

  I've been waiting for a year for this South State bank to catch up with others regarding their internet banking. I still cannot access statements or tax documents for my account on their website. The best part - I called their call center on a weekday after 5pm and was told I'd have to pay $5 to receive help in getting this taken care of. I know I'm not a big account, but I pay hundreds per month in interest to this bank, and they want to charge $5 to help me get a tax document?
