- KEKayla EvansJul 30, 20261.0Our construction loan experience with First National Bank and loan officer has been extremely disappointing. We started our loan process on January 1, 2026. We received a written approval letter dated March 10 and planned to begin construction on April 1. The bank later rescinded that approval, stating it had been issued by mistake, and required us to start the entire process over in May. The bank has had everything they needed from us since February 26. We were then given documentation showing a July 30 closing date, yet here we are with no closing in sight. Now we’re being told we must close by August 3 or our interest rate will increase, even though these delays have not been caused by us. After months of delays, poor communication, and inconsistent information, we’ve lost confidence in First National Bank. We have multiple six figures on deposit that will be moved to another financial institution, and we’ll be taking our construction loan elsewhere. We do not recommend First National Bank. If you’re looking for a bank you can trust to handle your loan accurately, honestly, and within the timelines they provide, our experience suggests you should look elsewhere.
