The NCSECU has an upper management problem. Recently they decided that being a good bank with excellent member support was no longer their mission. They changed the entire structure of online banking by switching to a "tik tok" like platform and in the process made access inherently insecure. They implemented an AI customer service system that replaces human responses to messages and instead provides irrelevant phrases of words strung together that say nothing. Worse yet, they use data mining on every transaction to guess, usually incorrectly, what the expenditure was for. One example was classifying purchase of a child's swim goggles as a "smoking/vape" purchase. They management of the NCSECU made a decision to automatically enroll every member into a "financial wellness " app to mimic social media apps. Financial institutions should never use blind guesses as a basis for offering financial advice or sharing spending habits. You can opt out of the app, but you cannot opt out of the data mining . This is what happens to good organizations when people with no fundamental knowledge are allowed to make decisions. These ill conceived decisions have cost thousands of members inconvenience and loss of privacy.
