  I love SECU for my banking needs, always have and our kids use them too. Have had them for years but this new app and way to log in, it’s TERRIBLE! It had a recent update and switched to new face I get it, times change but as of yesterday now it’s not working great at all. Ugh! I miss the old app way. This new stuff is just way too difficult and time consuming!

  I have banked with SECU for 30+ years and regularly deposit with this branch and institution. After all that time, I am closing my accounts because of how this branch handled an issue involving my minor children’s custodial accounts. SECU treated the accounts as abandoned and transferred the money to the State of North Carolina, even though I remained an active SECU member, continued banking with them, and the children’s accounts were tied to our accounts as custodians. We moved, and the notices (to minor children) to change their addresses were sent to an old address. What has been most disappointing is not simply that the problem happened, but the complete lack of meaningful assistance once it was brought to their attention. Instead of anyone taking ownership of the issue, investigating how this happened, or trying to help correct it, I have been met with resistance and indifference. After 30 years as a customer, I expected substantially better treatment. A financial institution should not make a longtime customer feel like a number—or worse, like someone it can simply brush aside once there is a problem involving thousands of dollars. I am now closing my accounts and will pursue the matter through other channels. I would strongly encourage anyone opening custodial or minor accounts here to monitor them very carefully and not assume that SECU’s internal systems will connect your active membership, current contact information, and your children’s accounts when dormancy issues arise.

  I worked with Lindsay Mills a few months back. She was very helpful answering all questions along with providing contact information. I did not interact with the tellers so could not give you a review on them. Hopefully the reviews get better here.

  Horrible customer service and terrible branch manager - would never submit my banking needs in their hands. Glad I will NEVER go back and I’m an honest tax paying fuquay resident
