  I had a very negative experience with PNC Bank and would not recommend this bank. because the monthly service fees that were charged under circumstances beyond my control. They required a minimum balance of $5,000 in the cheching account; however, my total balance was consistently and significantly above that threshold.. This was not a case of insufficient funds. The issue arose because I was unable to access my account and therefore could not manage the account structure required to avoid these fees. Starting around August or September 2024, I experienced ongoing issues accessing my online banking. I was unable to log in using both my mobile device (Face ID) and my computer. I made multiple attempts to regain access and contacted customer service several times, but the issue was never resolved. Because I could not access my account, I had no way to monitor my balance or take action to prevent or avoid monthly service fees. In addition, I reviewed my email records and did not receive clear or effective notifications regarding these fees. The emails I received either contained general information or required me to log into online banking, which I was unable to access. As a result, approximately $225 in monthly service fees were charged to my account over several months. Due to the ongoing access issues and inability to manage the account, I chose to close the account. I closed the account specifically because I was dissatisfied with PNC Bank’s practice of charging fees while failing to provide adequate access and support. However, I was later informed that PNC Bank refuses to refund the remaining fees solely because the account is now closed. I believe this is unfair. The fees were not the result of negligence or insufficient funds, but rather a long-term unresolved access issue that was outside of my control. I made reasonable and repeated efforts to resolve the problem and relied on the bank’s systems to function properly. Instead of focusing on the customer’s actual experience, PNC relied on technicalities and refused to fully refund the charges. Bank of America was able to acknowledge and correct similar system-related issues immediately, but PNC chose not to.

  Don’t go to their ATM. Went there this morning to use the ATM, and after about 30 seconds it said “ your card has been retained. See your financial institution”., and on a Monday morning. Went inside they said they aren’t responsible for the ATM there. Called my on bank and of course I have to wait 7-10 business days to get a new card with a new sequence of numbers.

  Today, I closed out my father’s estate. The gentleman that helped me was so kind and told me stories about his interactions with my late father. I truly appreciate the way that I was taken care of. I want to thank all of the tellers and bankers that cared for my father for these last few years. Forever grateful :)
