When i first opened my account they remembered my name, were smiling when customers came in etc.
Today, I was the only person in the branch. I waited to be called to the window. The teller was looking down, on his phone till another associate alerted him to my presence. No apology, no greeting. He didn't look at me while I was speaking. When I began giving my account number, he cut me off because he had to log in.
He briefly looked at my account said he didn't see the deposit I asked about... then while I was speaking to him, he reached over, grabbed his phone and began texting while I was standing there.
This kind of behavior doesn't illicit the kind of trust and respect I need when I trust a company to handle my money.
When I worked at a place that handled people's credit cards, having a phone visible was grounds for termination.
Huge pci violation. He could be recording people giving out personal information, photographing the screen with people's accounts and addresses.
No cell phones should be allowed where financial transactions are taking place.

I’ve had a great experience with this bank so far. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and always willing to help with questions or concerns. Transactions are smooth, the online banking system is easy to use, and customer service responds quickly when needed. I've always been met with a smile and great customer service. Not once have I had much of a wait time. Any questions or needs that I've had have been addressed rapidly and I've appreciated the level of customer service. In these days and times most businesses do not provide customer service. I've been with South State now for about 3 years after leaving my former large bank of 25 years and I'm so happy that I made the change! Thank you!

Roger Stewart does NOT go above and beyond for consumers. He also does not disclose that their lot loans require a 720 or above credit score prior to dinging your credit and causing a negative impact on your credit. Buyer beware! He could have gained so much business from me had he not been so incompetent.
