Worst bank I have ever dealt with in the past 5 years. I have been a customer for a decade and about 5 years ago, they have tremendously gone down hill. It takes forever to get anything done. You have to have a 800+ credit score for any sort of loan. Management is so absolutely sensitive, im convinced they are provided safe rooms to cry when they cant figure something out or have to deal with a disgruntled customer. Ive dealt with numerous missing payments that I ended up having to eat myself. Ive dealt with accounts being closed out of nowhere. The latest nonsense is there is absolutely no communication to the customer about changes to the company. Especially related to credit cards. They up and sold there cards to a new Elon/Elan whatever they're called, company. Who is even more incompetent then First Interstate, which is impressive. I would a 1000 times over recommend sticking with credit unions over big banks any day. Remember people, they cant survive without us. I will never return as a customer, even though this is who my great grand parents, grand parents, and parents have used. This company is a joke. The only person to actually help me close my account that I had for 8 years, was Bryan Baker. If you happen to find yourself in this terrible institution, at least ask for him. He seems to be the only person to care about customers.

First Interstate Bank purchased my previous bank, Great Western Bank. Since then it has been frustration after frustration and will be leaving them now. GWB had free checking for personal and business accounts, FIB does not I'm paying them $25/month for them to loan out my money and not even getting any interest on the money they are using. The also have overdraft notifications that sometimes work and sometimes don't. I've had to pay overdraft fees several times because the alerts don't come at all or sometimes too late through the app and text. I have money to cover any of these because the one that always gets withdrawn is one I use for shopping and subscriptions so I only put money in as needed in case a credit card gets hacked on a e-commerce store. WheneverI have had an overdraft notice I have transferred money into the account, sometimes they will refund the fee and sometimes they won't. One of those times I actually had to do a stop payment because I had cancelled with a vendor and they charged me for the stop payment, went ahead and made the payment anyway, then charged me an overdraft on top of this because I wouldn't put the money in the account to cover a payment that was supposed to be denied in the first place. Several times I have gone into the branch to talk to the manager and they said they will take care off this but never do. Finally, today, I was supposed to have a credit to my account from State Farm for an accident. They said this was the quickest way to get payment sent. SF mentioned that sometimes banks deny debit card credits over $5,000 so they split our payment credits into two credits and suggested we alert the bank that this would be happening. We did alert the bank today and the payment was sent from State Farm but I just received and email saying that FIB denied the payment, even after they were alerted, and State Farm is going to be mailing us a check. Now instead of waiting the 24 hours for payment, State Farm is going to mail us a check that we will now not receive for a week. The money they were sending was to replace a car that was totaled. Luckily I have enough money to do the down payment and the dealership let us take home the car because we have family there. This is the most incompetent bank I have ever done business with. Goodbye FIB!

I see now why FIB has a low feedback, it's the bad customer service and rude tellers at this bank. I closed my accounts and went elsewhere.
