Sturgis Bank was founded in 1905 as the Sturgis Building and Loan Association, created to encourage personal savings and provide home financing for Sturgis families.
Over the years, the Bank grew from a small local office into a full-service community bank serving hometowns across southwest Michigan. Our Main Office has moved and evolved with that growth, including a major renovation in 2021 that refreshed the lobby, Oakleaf Financial Services space, and executive conference room while honoring the Bank’s history.
Today, Sturgis Bank continues to grow under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Jason Hyska and President/Chief Operating Officer Matt Scheske, both longtime employees who began their careers with the Bank.
