Sturgis Bank opened its St. Joseph Banking Center – Downtown in 2020 as the first branch in our Western Market expansion into Berrien County. The location began as a loan processing center before becoming a full-service banking center.
The building has deep local history, once serving as a Pure Oil Gas Station and later as the longtime law office of Gary Hosbein. Today, we continue the tradition of decorating the “gingerbread” style building with Christmas lights each year.
This location is home to Bob Burch, Senior Vice President and Community President, and Larry Morrow, Vice President and Mortgage Loan Originator. The Banking Center is led by Lucas Rogers, who also oversees our Cleveland Avenue location.
Customers generally enjoyed the food, noting it was fresh and tasty, although there were some complaints about specific items being cold or not prepared correctly.
