  Absolutely never under any circumstances use Flagstar home loans. After requesting a mortgage payoff in January, paying the amount requested, and submitting a closure request Flagstar came back and demanded an additional over 700 dollars. This has been 6 months of being ran in circles. And now they are threatening to take a home insurance policy out on the house I sold since they haven’t closed my mortgage account. Nobody can tell me why. Everything is over the phone. They only circulate me through four or five different departments that don’t seem to talk to one another. I’ve emailed my payoff request to their “resolution department” but I can never talk to anyone about why I still owe more than they quoted me. When I call, I can only talk to the people that submit requests for information but they never have reasons for why I’m told I still owe money.
