I've tried to contact DTE all day today I was riding my bike down the road in Brighton Michigan going into Howell Michigan on Grand River a DTE truck went by me a piece of metal came flying off the back of the truck it is clearly an electric tool that cost $750 it broke my bike and hit me in the shin the driver never stopped he didn't see if I needed help or nothing I got home and realized how messed up it is I'm trying to contact you the company instead of going about it publicly and being a jerk I still have the tool that came off the back of the truck

DTE Energy is a predatory monopoly exploiting its captive customers. Since 2020, the MPSC has granted DTE $1.53 BILLION in annual rate increases. That’s recurring revenue extracted from families while they struggle to pay bills.
Here’s the scam: DTE charges residential customers the HIGHEST rates among publicly traded utilities in Michigan. Yet, they charge industrial clients (like data centers) LOWER rates than everyone else. They are cross-subsidizing big tech at your expense.
They claim new substations in Ann Arbor, Northville, and Shelby are for "grid reliability." But look at the map: these are built specifically near new AI data center proposals. You’re paying for infrastructure that benefits corporations, not your home.
Their claim that Michigan bills are "below national average" is a lie—it’s like saying gas is cheap because you can’t afford to fill the tank. Rates are sky-high, and they hit you with surcharges for congestion.
DTE prioritizes shareholder profits and data centers over the families who keep them in business. 1/5 stars. A disgraceful example of corporate greed.

Awful customer support, long phone wait times, and hit-and-miss representatives. I've spent hours on hold waiting to get to somebody before being hung up on.
Edit: Live chat customer support is even worse than waiting on the phone, with longer wait times, and LONG delays between responses, plus you’re relying on a site chat to update. I’m not reaching out via social media so a marketing intern can respond to a technical or billing question.

Ever since you all made these changes with charging people for using credit cards something has been terribly wrong with your system I paid my bill you all claim that you did not receive my payments I had to argue with your employees who were very nasty to me and then all of a sudden my payment appear after they told me that I did not make my payment I just paid my bill for April I received a confirmation number and I receive an email telling me that my payment went through a couple of days later I received a message saying that my payment was declined I called my bank and my bank tells me that DTE never put it through

Dte is a scam and full of crap. First you forced people to link their bank account so avoid extra fees from paying via debit card number so I did that, then you denied payment from my business account that has way more than enough money in it then locked my account so I cannot pay online. I bet the news would have a field day with a story like this…
