After a stormy, Wichita night, the rains cleared to make way for Capitol Federal's ribbon cutting ceremony on May 2, 1997, commemorating the opening of its newest True Blue location, its 26th, at the KenMar Shopping Center, 13th and Oliver. Evidenced by the tremendous support from area dignitaries who attended, KenMar was a community effort. Capitol Federal demonstrated its community involvement by supporting the Urban League's LYoung Engineers and Scientists (YES) program.
