A month later, I found out my taxes still hadn't been filed and was asked to send documents that I had already provided. Over the course of May and June, I called multiple times to check on the status of my returns and was repeatedly told they were being worked on. It is now almost July. I checked my IRS account today and there is still no return filed and nothing being processed. At this point, I have no idea what is going on with my taxes. I will be calling one final time to get an explanation before filing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. If you've been told your taxes were being handled, I strongly recommend checking for yourself and asking for proof that your return was actually filed
