  First visit, probably my last I rode my bike over to Itasca Bank for the first time today around 4 PM. I had a pretty simple request, I had just gotten paid through Robinhood and was told I could use the ATM here for free, but I needed to withdraw $1,500 and the ATM wouldn’t let me take it all out at once. So I figured, no big deal — I’ll just walk inside and ask for some help. There were two employees behind the counter, and unfortunately the woman who “helped” me was about as helpful as an ATM that’s been unplugged. She was extremely rude, unprofessional, and had a pretty terrible attitude from the moment I approached her. She wasn’t able to help me with my issue, and there was no attempt to offer an alternative solution or even explain what my options were. And apparently I was also supposed to magically know that I could just walk back outside and withdraw $500 three separate times. She could have told me what the limit was instead of me guessing multiple times. So that’s what I did. I went back outside, made three separate $500 withdrawals, and in the process ended up holding up the line because there’s only one ATM in their drive thru in 2026. The local chase buy my house has multiple machines outside AND inside. The funniest part? Not once did anyone ask, “Would you like to open an account with us?” I had just gotten paid, was physically standing inside the bank, and was apparently the perfect opportunity to gain a new customer — but after that experience, opening an account was definitely the last thing on my mind. I understand that employees have bad days, and I’m not expecting red-carpet treatment for walking into a bank. But basic courtesy, professionalism, and actually trying to help a potential customer shouldn’t be too much to ask. First impressions matter. Unfortunately, this one wasn’t a very good one.

  I cannot think of what would make Itasca bank a better institution for our needs. The employees serve in the most professional, courteous, and efficient way. They are a phone call/ email/ message away. We have been doing business with them for more a decade and never had a problem with them. Even the physical layout of the bank is inviting. I'll stay local for as long as it takes.
