  PGS was the first location I visited to buy gold and silver bullion. The prices have been great and they away offer a variety of pieces to choose from. Been there three times and every experience has been great.

  I sold some silver coins to PGS in Villa Park. Jill Schumacher was very helpful and spent some time explaining how the process works. She showed me all the numbers. I felt it was a good deal for both sides. I will be back soon.

  I met with Sam regarding my items. He was very friendly & customer service orientated. He has been in this field for over 25 yrs & is very knowledgeable. He was patient & explanatory. Highly recommend ! Would definitely go back as I had such an overall great experience!

  I was looking for a coin shop in the area and found PGS Gold & Coin. So I called and talked to Sam to see if they could help me with my situation and found out to my surprise Sam said that the would be able to help me with a polite, cheerful, and with a very friendly personality.

  I came in today to sell a 14k gold chain, around 50g. Before visiting, I had already gone to two other shops and had done my own research on the current gold price and approximate melt value. I understand that businesses need to make a profit and that offers will be below melt value. That is completely fair. What bothered me was the way the employee handled the interaction. Instead of having a straightforward discussion, he gave what seemed like misleading information about the gold market and implied my chain was only worth “a bit over a thousand,” despite two other shops offering me around $3,350–$3,400. When I explained my reasoning and the numbers I was using, he called my ask of $3,600 “delusional” and said I did not know the going rate. As I was walking out, he then offered $2,500, which felt like an extreme lowball after trying to convince me the market was terrible. I don’t mind a business making an offer that works for them, but I do expect honesty and professionalism. Based on this experience, I would not recommend selling gold here without getting multiple quotes first.
