  Response to owner's "update" - - If M&M was "actively working this case" (nearly six months prior to now) and "continue to do [their] part" as stated in the "original response" to my review, I am very confused by what ownership meant when those statements were made. When I now read the updated response, they indicate: "M&M was NOT hired to... resolve any back-tax liabilities". However, the Form 2848 submitted to the IRS (one year ago) by M&M contains an added statement: "Request for Abatement of Penalties". All conversations between myself and the M&M representative clearly led me to believe an abatement was her desired outcome for me. Otherwise, what was the point to "actively [work] this case", or to "continue to do our part", if all I was to expect from M&M was a completed request for abatement? If that was their only commitment, then no further "activity" would be required. All I can say is the services originally presented me gave clear indication, although not guaranteed, their experience, efforts and actions may produce an abatement of at least some of the penalties and interest imposed on my company. Now I know and future clients should take note, the capabilities of M&M Financial Consulting, Inc. are limited to merely making a request for an abatement on behalf of a client and no further "activity" will be done or should be expected. Update - Since my original review posted five months ago, there has still been no activity by M&M Financial on my behalf. I have made all IRS payments and continue to be current and compliant with the IRS. The only actions taken by the M&M representative, Rebecca Kelly, occurred when I prompted her to act. Since my engagement with M&M, the IRS has imposed additional penalties on myself in addition to the corporate penalties I originally engaged M&M to resolve. So, as well as the payment plan I personally negotiated for the corporation before hiring M&M, I have since negotiated a payment plan for the personal penalties now imposed. No action has been taken by M&M staff to reduce my corporate tax liability other than their initial submission to the IRS outlining my case, and now I have incurred additional penalties personally above and beyond the corporate penalties. This was not the outcome I expected and/or was sold. It's been nearly a year since I paid the initial $1,800 fee and will terminate the agreement with M&M for lack of action. Original post: "Once I paid my $1,800 fee, it took six months before something was written up and allegedly sent the IRS. I don't even know if what I was told was being sent was actually sent. COVID-19 is frequently cited as an excuse for doing nothing. My representative told me earlier this year that she could not do anything because the IRS payment plan I already negotiated had been suspended. I personally followed up with the IRS and the IRS agent informed me the plan was suspended but had been reinstated in February... the reinstatement being prior to when the M&M representative told me it was suspended. Now, I am told nothing will be done on my case for nine or ten months. I'm on a payment plan that I negotiated for myself and will be paid off by that time complete with all the penalties and full interest. It was the interest and penalties M&M was hired to negotiate down. How convenient for M&M Financial. I will pay off my IRS debt before they are willing to act on it. Do not hire this firm! They will do nothing to resolve your tax problem. This company is a sham and a total rip off!"

  I had a very difficult IRA situation, where I had to hire a tax attorney. After nearly $10,000 ,they accomplished absolutely nothing, leaving me hopeless and scared.   I have used M&M financial three times in the last 10 years. The resolution of my issues has always been very satisfactory. They operate quickly, and are very thorough. They understand, and I now know, that anybody can end up with tax issues, It really helps to have somebody on your side that understands and can deal with the issues.
