  How do you even give a negative star? It should be no stars. Recently deposited a check via mobile deposit. Was given a 10day hold!! 😡 cray work right. After calling customer service was told to visit a branch and ask the branch manager if they can lift a portion of the hold okay no problem. Stop by the Tucker location only to be told go to your home branch and if your cool with them they’ll do you the favor of lifting what you need. I opened my account online, I have direct deposit and I work during banking hours I do not have a relationship with no branch. No need to in today’s time when everything can be done online. Okay so I really needed a portion of the large check released traveled another 20 mins out the way with terrible parking to Decatur location. To get in there and be told they’re not authorizing a release of my check and I’ll have to wait the 10 day hold. 🤔 check was already accepted and verified it’s Friday I have kids. No ways of getting gas or groceries. Safe to say I’ll be taking my banking else where.

  South State is a pain to deal with. They haven't seemed to figure out banking yet and all of their systems are manual. Would not recommend to anyone I like, maybe an enemy.

  This will be the first time I've ever reviewed anything, but I think it's important: I implore you not to bank here. As a small business owner, dealing with this bank and its incompetence has been the most frustrating part of owning a business. I am lucky that my business is populated by patient understanding people, because their errors had the potential to do us serious harm. It was not a one time thing either. They were consistently incapable of performing their duties. We had an easier time with the local government. Small businesses steer clear.
