I have been banking with this credit union for over 6 years, but the way I was treated yesterday made me want to close my account. I used to always boast about what a great credit union it was and even referred people. I won't do that again. Especially at this location. I did a check deposit through the drive-thru. Filled out the deposit slip and provided my ID and a check per usual. The hold time became a little longer than normal, and the lady that originally greeted me never came back. A guy came back and asked me where I had gotten my check from. This was very strange because I'm a loyal long-term customer, and I've never been questioned about a deposit in this manner before. I told him I received it in the mail from the company on the check, which I've done business with several times before, which could also be verified through my account history. He then asked for a second form of ID, which I provided without question. So, a few min later, he proceeded to tell me because of the type of check, the funds would be held for 3 days. After I questioned why, another person, a woman, stepped in, introduced herself as the teller supervisor, and told me that the check was unusual in nature and because it was from Bank of America and not First Florida it would be held. She also stated that "typically check pmts over 1500 go on hold" and that because I couldn't cover the amount based on my balance, it would have to be held. Now, all of this was said with no empathy and no offer to verify the check with the issuing company. She even stated that she could give me the check back and I could take it to Bank of America. Totally blowing me off like I was a criminal and sending me to a bank that I don't hold an account with. Fast forward today, the Director of Finacial Services called me after I called customer service to offer a solution, and now the funds are released. She stated that the funds should have been held for 2 days. Now, which is it? 2 days or 3 days? How funny that all of a sudden, the check could be verified by one employee and not another. I'm calling this experience discrimatory and ultimately racist. You need a new teller supervisor, Donna! The stars are for you! Even after expressing I had a hardship, your teller supervisor was very dismissive and arrogant at best. I value customer service near and dear, and this encounter has me looking for other institutions to Bank with. Thank you Donna for stepping in and making this right.

We've had great experiences with FFCU. The Raymond Diehl branch is full of helpful staff. They also have great auto loan rates and mortgage refi rates.
