Problems started while I was opening an account online. That should have stopped me right there. Online account opening told me I can add pay-on-death beneficiaries right at account opening but it wasn't working. Took me four tries and a half hour to open a simple checking account.
Finally gave up on the beneficiaries because I figured I could just add them after the account was opened. Wrong!!! When I called for help, they said I had to go into the branch. That's really inconvenient for me given their really inconvenient business hours. Strike one...
ATM never works whenever I go there. Three times I tried so far and I only actually got my money once. Strike two...
Told the teller at the window about the ATM, but she didn't really seem to care very much. Strike three...
The only reason I haven't closed the account is because it's the only bank on US 27 between my house and I-4. As soon as another one opens, this account is getting closed. Although, if I can't actually get to my money I guess it doesn't really matter when I close it.
Very disappointed ☹️
Update: Bank contacted me to discuss the problems. We have solved the beneficiary issue with one account so far and hopefully take care of the other account tomorrow. I have been working with Laura N. and she has been incredibly helpful. I explained the problems with the ATM. She did explain some things about how it is maintained. The next time I go by there, I will try it again.
