Only dealt with one person, but she is either the most inept person I have ever met, or intentionally sabotaged my entire experience.
From falsely claiming unbreakable policy and instantly breaking it, to making ridiculous demands of us five minutes before closing, claiming to email and not having and then playing phone dodge for 4 hours, finally Liza gets her side done and even THAT can’t be done right, she messed up my user name despite having it in email AND over the phone.
And her final replay when I told her it was wrong was “sorry it is {incorrect name}”

This all culminated in a call from the branch assistant manager, she gave me instructions on how to change my user name myself, it took five seconds, and then commented that “Liza got frustrated and gave up, so she tossed your issue my way”
Kinda unprofessional for the “customer service representative” to get frustrated over an issue she cause and to “give up” on representing me, the customer
Do not go here, truist is so much better

This bank branch has the worst customer service. Just rude employees. One of them who has been there for years, long before South State took over Center State, is the worst.

It’s actually unbelievable how rude the employees of this branch are.
You are treated like a nuisance as soon as you walk in.
I had 4 accounts here.
Just closed 2 of them and will be closing the other 2 asap.
Avoid this bank.
If you don’t need a bank with customer service, just open an online bank account.
If you need to be able to enter the bank for any reason, go anywhere else.
All of the 5 star reviews here are definitely fake.

It's not fair that when they merged with CenterState Bank that the reviews from CenterState Bank stayed on. This new bank is an absolute joke. Over the years I have closed many manufactured home loans with CenterState Bank. Never had an issue. Great service. South State is an absolute joke. They've delayed our closing multiple times even after they were the ones who gave us a closing date! Horrible communication!
STAY AWAY until they get their act together! I do not write negative reviews often because I know it affects peoples businesses, but if you trust South State with your clients and your business, prepare to be embarrassed.
