  Corey and the rest of the bankers were amazing. They walked me through every step from reviewing the finances to setting up accounts, as well as qualifying us for a line of credit that was a Very competitive interest rate. I feel Like I’m back with a bank that cares not a giant corporation where I’m a number. I look forward to many years of working and moving all of my banking!

  I applied for an equipment loan and was approved through sba and cogent bank but communication was nil, and we had to go elsewhere to move forward with our business. Maybe the organization needs to reevaluate the business loan process or change the way they do business. I will not be using cogent bank for business banking in the future.

  I tried to get an equipment loan through Cogent Bank. I was approved through SBA and Cogent Bank. But, for some reason, the bank couldn't get organized. I think my loan originator understood the drill, but I don't think his superiors understand their own business. It became such a mess that I had to get my loan elsewhere. If your serious about growing your business, I wouldn't recommend Cogent Bank. I think they trip over their own feet. I give Cogent a ONE star. UPDATE: I have received an AI generated email stating "We recognize that we did not clearly or promptly communicate several key points: the distinction between the CDC/SBA approval process and Cogent’s independent credit decision, the role of underwriting in evaluating the transaction, and the likelihood that additional collateral would be required. We understand why the process felt disorganized and why you felt unable to move forward with confidence." I have a letter from the CDC that, in my opinion, contradicts Cogent Bank's email. This is a very dangerous situation and I would advise looking elsewhere for a commercial loan.

  Debbie appeared to be reluctant to open account. I had everything needed I think she didn't believe a black person could be depositing a 10k check

  This is the only bank for me. There is a personal touch that I have not had with the previous banks I have dealt with. It starts at the top with Dave Groves. His leadership is evident as all other employees show willingness to happily be of service. I have my business and personal accounts with Cogent and have always had the feeling that what I need matters. It goes further then that. Cogent recommended a certain business account that would earn interest on funds that were not being used daily. This cost the bank money as they are now paying my business a very good interest rate on that money. That is a selfless act and shows Cogent Bank's dedication to customer service.
