  We started at the Lake Mary PNC branch at noon today with our son to make a change to his account. They were short staffed and could not accommodate us so they suggested we go to the Altamonte Springs PNC since they have a lot more personnel. I called while on the way and we were told by Betsy that as long as we got there before 1pm we could be helped because they are not busy at all and she said she would put my name down so they’d expect us. We arrived at 12:30 and Betsy kindly called over Teresa to help us. We needed to have our son’s minor account separated from our account since he is an adult now or have it consolidated with his other PNC account that he opened. Teresa said that his minor account would have to be closed in order to detach it from ours and we would need an appointment for that. We had thoroughly explained ourselves to Lake Mary so firstly we wish they would have told us that rather than send us to Altamonte. Secondly, we expressed our frustration to Teresa since we were told when we called ahead that someone could help us and now they say they can’t. Teresa then spoke with an attitude and a demeanor as though she didn’t want to be bothered with us. It was rude and unsympathetic. She brushed us off and told us to call customer service for help. While it is frustrating wasting our time going from branch to branch, we are understanding. Had we been spoken to with respect and some empathy perhaps we would continue our business relationship with PNC. But unfortunately this is not the first time we have had unsatisfactory customer service from their branch representatives. And we have banked at both branches. We will soon be closing our personal accounts and our business accounts with PNC. Now, I will state that before we left Betsy was able to at least help us with our son’s address change and she showed proper and kind customer service towards us. Maybe Teresa was having a bad day and if that’s the case perhaps she should have taken PTO rather than come to work disgruntled and unnecessary upsetting clients and losing business for her employer. Mr. Matt McGovern, I understand you are the branch manager. We hope this review reaches you so you can provide counsel to your staff member. We will not be coming back.

  Terrible customer service and a complete lack of professionalism. The staff at this branch is extremely incompetent. They sent me from one branch to another without resolving anything and caused me to lose an entire day of work. The worst part was their attitude. Every time I arrived, you could clearly see the annoyance on their faces, and they showed absolutely no willingness to help me. It felt like I was bothering them simply for asking for a service they are supposed to provide. I have my money in this bank, and I deserve to be treated with respect. They are there to assist customers, not the other way around. After this experience, the best thing I can do is close my account and take my money to a financial institution that actually values its customers. I do not recommend this branch at all.

  I had a great experience at the Altamonte location. Alex the VP was wonderful. The young lady upfront was accommodating and very helpful. Overall, my experience was A+.
