I tried cashing a check that was written out of a PNC account by a well established title company and was told that I'd have to deposit it to wait for funds to become available, which would likely be several business days. Interestingly, I decided to roll the dice with a deposit at Chase and the funds were available immediately. My experience with PNC is that they do everything they can to hold funds so that you can't access your money. Avoid this terrible bank at all costs. **Update:** PNC responded with a canned paragraph that manages to avoid addressing a single issue raised in my review. “Customer care is a top priority” is difficult to take seriously when customers cannot reliably or promptly access their own money. Saying my feedback was “passed along internally” offers no explanation, no remedy, no accountability, and no indication that anything will change. The invitation to contact PNC privately through Facebook or X is equally revealing. I should not have to create or use a social-media account to get basic banking problems resolved. PNC already has my contact information, account information, branch location, and the substance of my complaint. If the bank genuinely wanted to help, it could contact me directly or provide an actual banking support channel—not redirect me to a public-relations account. This response appears designed to make PNC look responsive beneath a negative review, not to resolve the underlying problem. It is generic reputation management masquerading as customer service, and it reinforces exactly why I am moving my accounts elsewhere.
