  After inheriting an account from my late stepfather, I’ve unfortunately had to interact quite a bit with the SouthState Bank branch in Okeechobee, Florida — and they never, ever, ever answer the phone. I have spent what feels like an eternity on hold more times than I can count. Because I live in Colorado, I visited the closest branch to me in Golden and was treated very well on my first visit. Today, while out of state, I needed to figure out how to deposit a check into my late stepfather’s account. After an incredibly frustrating day dealing with other companies’ automated systems — endless loops, transfers to nowhere, and calls that simply hang up on you — I honestly held my breath before dialing the Golden branch of SouthState Bank. Then Collin answered… on the second ring. I was genuinely shocked into silence. He was kind, patient, and immediately helpful. He clearly explained exactly what I needed to do and made the entire situation simple and understandable. It was such a relief to speak with a real human being who actually cared. I am literally going straight to Google to write this five-star review because service like this deserves recognition. Can we please go back to this level of customer service? The world needs more personal touches, and Collin delivered exactly that. Thank you, Collin — you made a stressful day (and situation!) so much easier.
